Spin is a growth agency based on Sydney's Northern Beaches. We take your privacy seriously, not because a policy says we have to, but because trust is the whole business. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:
Contact and business details. Your name, email address, phone number, company name and job title when you fill in a form, book a call, email us, or connect with us on social media.
Client information. If you become a client, information reasonably necessary to deliver our services, such as billing details, the contents of briefs and correspondence, and access credentials you choose to share with us for platforms we manage on your behalf.
Website and interaction data. Pages you visit on our site, links you click, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived here. Some of this is collected through cookies and similar technologies (more below).
Job applicant information. If you apply to work with us, the information in your application and anything you consent to us checking, such as references.
We don't knowingly collect sensitive information (health, beliefs, biometrics and the like), and we ask that you don't send it to us.
How we collect it
Directly from you, when you complete a form, book a meeting, email us, call us, or engage us. Automatically, when you use our website, through cookies and analytics tools. And occasionally from third parties, such as publicly available business directories or platforms like LinkedIn, where you'd reasonably expect a business to look.
Why we collect it
We use personal information to respond to your enquiries and book the calls you ask for, deliver our services and manage client relationships, send the Spin Cycle newsletter and other marketing you've opted into, improve our website and understand what content is useful, recruit, and meet our legal obligations. We collect what we need for those purposes and nothing more.
Marketing and the Spin Cycle
If you subscribe to the Spin Cycle or opt in to hear from us, we'll email you. Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes one click and works immediately. We comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). We never sell or rent your details to anyone.
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences, measure how the site is used, and make our advertising more relevant. This includes tools such as HubSpot (our CRM and website platform), Google Analytics, and advertising platforms like Google Ads and Meta.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work, but the words will still be there.
AI tools
We use AI in our work. It's part of how we run the business and part of what we sell. Where AI tools touch personal information, we use business-grade services with contractual protections, we don't use your personal information to train public AI models, and a human stays responsible for the work.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only where it's needed to run the business: with service providers such as our CRM and marketing platform (HubSpot), analytics and advertising platforms, accounting and billing providers, and IT services; with professional advisers where necessary; and where the law requires it. Our service providers are bound by their own privacy obligations and our agreements with them.
Some of these providers store data outside Australia, primarily in the United States and the European Union (for example, HubSpot and Google). Where information goes overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it's handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
How we protect it
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. That includes access controls, encryption in transit, two-factor authentication on our systems, and keeping information only as long as we need it. When we no longer need your information, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
No system is perfectly secure. If a data breach occurs that's likely to result in serious harm, we'll notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Access and correction
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us at grow@spinfluence.com.au and we'll respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days. We won't charge you for making the request.
Complaints
If you think we've mishandled your personal information, tell us first and give us the chance to fix it: grow@spinfluence.com.au. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our practices or the law change. The current version always lives at this page, with the date above. Material changes to how we handle information already collected will be communicated, not buried.
